Temporary Water Pressure Changes – 5200 Area

The City of Iqaluit is advising residents in the 5200 area to expect short-term dips in water pressure between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. over the next week, while City staff investigate an automation-related issue.
At 7:30 a.m. this morning, a brief drop in pressure was recorded, consistent with reported issues from this isolated area. Water pressure is currently back to normal, and there is no indication of a wider service interruption.

Join us for the Christmas parade!
The Christmas parade will leave from the Arctic Winter Games Arena at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 13th, travelling down Niaqunngusiariaq Road through 4-Corners to Queen Elizabeth Drive. The parade will conclude at Nakashuk School.
We will award prizes for:

• Most Spirited
• Best Youth Float

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to inform residents that the Arctic Winter Games (AWG) Arena will reopen for regular programming starting today, Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Repairs to the arena’s ice resurfacing equipment have been successfully completed, and operations have now returned to full capacity. We thank all user groups and residents for their patience and flexibility over the past few weeks as we worked to restore service.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that evening swims and all swims and aquatics programming after 5:00 PM are cancelled for today only (2025-11-26) due to staff shortages.
Regular programming will resume tomorrow.

The City of Iqaluit reminds all drivers to remove snow, ice, and anything else that might block their view or fall off their vehicle before driving. This is required under City’s Traffic Bylaw 943 and the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act.
