The City of Iqaluit continues to address the impacts of the fire at 1088 Noble House with the dedicated efforts of the Iqaluit Fire Department (IFD), Public Works, and Recreation staff. These teams have been working tirelessly since 19:30 yesterday, and continued their efforts overnight to prioritize the safety and well-being of all residents.

Arnaitok Arena Reopening

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to announce that the Arnaitok Arena has been repaired and will reopen effective Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

All ice surfaces are now safe for use, and the arena is ready to host its usual activities. Please note that there will be no changes to the existing Arnaitok Arena programming schedule.

The City of Iqaluit is thrilled to announce the return of our cherished annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display to celebrate the arrival of 2025! The fireworks will light up the sky at midnight on December 31, 2024, launched from the deep-sea port.
