Blasting Notice – IOL Development Project
May 9, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is advising residents that Pilitak Enterprises Ltd. will be conducting daily explosive blasting as part of the IOL development project. The blasting will take place from May 12 to July 1, 2025, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Blasting will occur near the coordinates 63°45'23.58" North and 68°31'43.02" West, located behind the Aqsarniit Hotel and Conference Centre. The blast radius will be approximately 50 metres. Safety mattress covers will be used, and all required safety protocols will be in place to protect residents and airport operations.

Notices and warning signs will be posted on-site to inform and safeguard the public. Residents are asked to avoid the blasting area and remain alert to posted signage.
