The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that City offices will be closed to the public on Monday, May 18, 2026, in observance of Victoria Day.
The Aquatic Centre will be open on May 18 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. All other recreation facilities will be closed.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the final day for regular ice times at City arenas will be Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Ice removal at both arenas, as well as the curling rink, will begin on Monday, May 4, 2026.
The City would like to thank residents, user groups, and staff for a successful ice season and for their continued support and participation in recreational programming.
The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents to take extra care during the spring melt period, as warming temperatures can cause ice and snow to slide or fall from roofs, eaves, and other elevated surfaces.
City of Iqaluit Public Works wishes to inform residents that some of the snowmobile trails inside the City are becoming impassable due to the melting conditions.
City crews have begun clearing ditches to prepare for the spring melt. That means, some of the previously accessible snowmobile trails may become impassable. Please use caution while travelling on the City trails.
The City of Iqaluit reminds non-profit organizations offering land-based programming that land applications remain open for On-the-Land Facilities until May 8, 2026.
