The City would like to advise residents that City offices will be closed to the public and trucked services will not run on:
     • Monday, October 2nd, 2023

Please be advised of the following alternate schedule for trucked-services:

Water and Sewer Truck services
     • Monday, October 2nd, 2022 – No trucked services
     • Tuesday, October 3rd, 2022 – 6:00 am until finished

Construction Notice – ATCO Loop Decommissioning

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of planned construction work in between Queen Elizabeth Way, Sinaa Street, Nipisa Street and Umiaq Crescent. The construction area is marked in red on the attached map.

Work is scheduled to continue until October 27th. There will be occasional road closures, and the City of Iqaluit will inform residents in advance of any closures or detours.

As the summer comes to an end, the colder dark months approach, the City of Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement Department would like to remind motorists that headlights and taillights must be turned on during hours of darkness or inclement weather.

An increase in motorists have been observed driving at night with only their lower lit, daytime running lights activated and no tail lights.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a road closure planned from September 27th to October 9th on Sivumugiaq Street (formerly known as Federal Road).

While Sivumugiaq Street will be closed near the intersection with Ungalliqpaat Crescent, local traffic can still access the area through a detour.

This is to allow upgrades to the water distribution system. The site layout and traffic control plans are shown below.
