Blizzard information – (867) 979-53006:30 AM - The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the city is suspending services, such as water delivery, waste management, garbage pick-up and snow removal, and closing city facilities to the public, until further notice, due to severe weather conditions.
Emergency services will be provided unless it is unsafe and/or impossible to do so; delays can be expected.
Due to the weather conditions and visibility, the City of Iqaluit has decided to postpone Halloween Trick or Treating. Trick or Treating will now take place on Wednesday November 1st.
Please remember to keep your eyes open for the excited youngsters.

The lobby of the Arnaitok Arena –Building 901- is being renovated, and will be closed to the public from November 6th until mid-December.
Access to the arena will still be available. You can enter the Arnaitok Arena from parking lot of the Aquatic Centre. Arena access is via the red door, next to the accessibility ramp, in the parking lot entrance.
The City of Iqaluit is pleased to congratulate the many Iqalummiut who were honoured with 2023 Commissioners Awards by Nunavut Commissioner Eva Aariak. In particular, we want to show gratitude to our staff and elected officials who were honoured for their service to the community.
Today’s planned water interruption for buildings 441, 442, 443, 445, 446, 447, 450, 451, 452, 453, 455, 1631, 1637, 1639, 1641 + 1643 has been postponed. The City of Iqaluit wishes to inform all City residents and businesses who are billed for water through piped services that they will see changes on their bills for the month of September. This does not affect customers that are on trucked service.
The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents to please use extra caution when travelling this Halloween night on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023
On Wednesday October 25th, beginning at 9 pm, there will be a slight traffic disruption. A large generator is being moved from the Deep Sea port to the power plant.
The entire process is expected to take two hours. Please be aware of the work crews, and thank you for your patience.
