The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that concrete work is scheduled on Iglulik Drive on June 9 and 10, 2026. A map is included below highlighting the section of roadway affected by the road closure.
Please be advised of a water shut down on June 4, from approximately 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents, businesses, and stakeholders that amendments have been made to the City’s Consolidated Fees Bylaw.
The updated bylaw includes changes to various municipal fees and service charges related to City programs, services, permits, and operations, and came into effect following third reading on April 28, 2026.

Community members who have items stored near the causeway boat launch are asked to take a moment to check the area shown in the attached photo.
The items of concern include derelict vehicles, propane tanks, tires, and miscellaneous debris. Operational boats, ski-doos, and qamutiiq may remain where they are.
Planning for Iqaluit’s future means looking ahead at where housing, services, infrastructure, roads, and community spaces may be needed as the city grows.
As the snow melts, garbage, damaged items, unused materials, and other debris may become visible in yards and outdoor spaces across Iqaluit.
The City of Iqaluit’s annual Household Hazardous Waste drop-off program will begin on Saturday, May 30, giving residents a safe way to get rid of items that should not go in regular garbage.
This is for the old paint, cleaners, batteries, chemicals, electronics, and other items that may have been sitting in a cupboard, porch, shed, or storage room waiting for the right time.
The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that all scheduled pool programming at the Aquatic Centre will be cancelled on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
