Full Road Closure – Fred Coman Street

June 5, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that concrete work is scheduled on Iglulik Drive on June 9 and 10, 2026. A map is included below highlighting the section of roadway affected by the road closure.

As a result, Iglulik Drive will be fully closed to vehicle traffic during the work period. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of workers and the public while concrete placement and curing activities are underway.

Drivers and pedestrians are advised to use caution and follow all posted signage. Detours may be in place, and residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time.

Local and emergency access will be maintained where possible, and trucked services are not expected to be impacted. Work is weather dependent and the schedule may change.

The City of Iqaluit thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as this work is completed.
