Temporary Closure of Aquatic Centre

March 9, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the Aquatic Centre is temporarily closed this morning due to unexpected repairs required in the facility.

City staff are currently working to address the issue as quickly as possible so the facility can safely reopen for the community. An update will be provided at 11:00 AM regarding the anticipated re-opening of the facility.

Flags at Half-Mast in Honour of Victims in Tumbler Ridge, BC

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that all municipal flags at City facilities will be lowered to half-mast to mark the tragic deaths that occurred in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, on February 10, 2026.
