Partial Road Closure – In Front of Building 2691
March 31, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a partial road closure in front of building 2691 on Abe Okpik Crescent (map attached).

The closure will going into effect Thursday, March 31st and conclude as soon as possible.

Residents along this road will still be able to access their homes.

The city of apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your understanding.

The City of Iqaluit advises residents that the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted for the following location: 676, 683 A-F, 681 A-D, 674, 679 A-F, 677 A-D, 675 A-D, 673 A-F, 672 A-F, 670 A-D, 671 A-D, 358, R59, 171, 172 A-D, 173, 174 A-D, 175, 176 A-D, 177, 179, 181.

REMINDER: Use of Seatbelts and child restraint system in vehicle 
March 29, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that as per the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act, as well as City of Iqaluit By-Law # 894 the Traffic Safety By-law, you are required to wear your seatbelt while operating a motor vehicle, whether you are a driver or a passenger.

Children also of the prescribed size or weight must be properly secured in a prescribed child restraint system.

Emergency Water Shutdown Notice - Plateau
March 22, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

A water interruption will be taking place effective immediately due to a water main break.

Location of water interruption: Plateau

These areas remain under a precautionary boil water advisory.

During a precautionary boil water advisory, the City recommends that all water for consumption is brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute.

It is recommended that all water be boiled for the following uses:

Toonik Tyme Civic Holiday Schedule for April 8th
March 21, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City is pleased to announce that the civic holiday for Toonik Tyme will be held this year on Friday, April 8TH, 2022. As per By-law 735 and amendment 771, this full-day civic holiday, scheduled on the first Friday of the festival, is intended to allow residents time to participate in event activities.
