The City of Iqaluit wishes to inform all City residents and businesses who are billed for water through piped services that they will see changes on their bills for the month of September. This does not affect customers that are on trucked service.

Traffic Disruption – October 25th

On Wednesday October 25th, beginning at 9 pm, there will be a slight traffic disruption. A large generator is being moved from the Deep Sea port to the power plant.

The entire process is expected to take two hours. Please be aware of the work crews, and thank you for your patience.

Road Closure – Sinaa Street

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a road closure planned for Sinaa Street is extended until November 24th. This closure is to allow for street upgrades and culvert installation.

Local traffic will still be able to access Sinaa Street throughout the duration of the work. The site layout and traffic control plans are shown below.

Test drilling in West 40
October 18, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is beginning work to develop lots in the West 40 Industrial Subdivision. These new industrial lots are needed to support community growth.

You may see activity in the study area over the next year starting with surveyors in October 2023. In October and November of 2023, you may see and hear “test pit” drilling, which will help us understand the area’s geology.
