Temperatures this week are forecast to stay just under the freezing point, with significant snowfall and some wind expected. The City of Iqaluit would like to remind motorists that those weather conditions make for very slippery roads. These conditions are expected to last most of the week.

The City of Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement department conducted random Sobriety and Road Safety Traffic Enforcement throughout the City of Iqaluit on Friday November 24th and Saturday November 25th 2023.
The City would like to inform residents that the road conditions are icy today. Please proceed with care and safety on the roads. Sand trucks are working to improve road conditions. Thank you for helping keep Iqaluit’s roads and residents safe.

Please be advised of a water shut down on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.
Location of water interruption: 400’s, 500’s +1600’s
The Government of Nunavut will issue a precautionary boil water advisory for the above addresses following the shutdown.
