The City of Iqaluit Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate National Indigenous People’s Day with organized events on Sunday, June 21st, 2020.
The City of Iqaluit Recreation Department is pleased to announce that this year’s Canada Day celebrations will take place on Wednesday, July 1st, 2020.
The City is pleased to announce that the annual large item pick-up program will take place during the week of Monday, June 22nd to Friday, June 26th, 2020. This is an opportunity for residents to clean up their homes by discarding large items to the landfill with the help of City work crews.

The City of Iqaluit is currently accepting project applications from individuals and organizations for Community Wellness Funding in 2020-2021. The Community Wellness Fund supports projects up to $15,000.
The City is pleased to announce that the annual community clean up will take place on Friday, June 19th, 2020, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We encourage all residents, businesses and visitors to spend the day outdoors and assist in cleaning up our beautiful community.
Please be advised that a blasting operation at the North Forty Quarry will happen around 5:30 PM on Friday, June 12th, 2020.
For your safety, residents need to vacate a 200-metre area due to thrown debris caused by the blasting.

The City of Iqaluit continues to work closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Chief Public Health Officer to monitor and respond as needed to the COVID-19 situation.
In response to the continued easing of restrictions from the Chief Public Health Officer, Iqaluit Recreation is working closely with the CPHO to bring its facilities back online for summer programming.
