The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents to please use extra caution when travelling this Halloween night on Saturday, October 31st, 2020.
To help keep children safe while they are out trick or treating, please note the following Halloween traffic pattern changes from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.:

COVID-19 City Update – Reminder for Safety Procedures at Recreational Facilities

The City would like to remind residents of the new safety procedures in place at the arenas, fitness centre, and swimming pool. The health regulations outlined below and are accompanied by signage in and around the facilities. Please help the City continue to keep programs running by taking this collective responsibility to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

COVID-19 City Update – Halloween Events Update
Halloween events, such as Spook-a-Rama, have been a big part of the Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre. This year with COVID-19 guidelines around social distancing and other safety protocols, Spook-a-Rama has been cancelled.
Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre will still be in high spirits as it will be open Saturday, October 31st 2020, for Halloween-themed programming. This will be open to youth ages 13-18 with a limited capacity of 25 participants.

Council Proclaims Respiratory Therapy Week in City of Iqaluit
City Council proclaims and recognizes October 25th-31st as “Respiratory Therapy Week” in the City of Iqaluit. The decision was unanimously passed with Motion 20-295 on September 22nd, 2020.
The City of Iqaluit joins the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and other municipalities across Canada in celebrating Respiratory Therapy Week during the week of October 25th-31st, 2020.

Road Closure
Road Closure
Due to a water main break this morning, there will be a partial road closure at the corner of
Niaqungusiariaq and Road to Nowhere. Reduced traffic can travel through using the designated
signage.
The partial road closure will be in effect on Monday, October 26th, 2020. Residents will be
notified by 5 p.m. today if the closure is extended.
The city of apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your understanding.
