Snow and Ice Accumulation on Vehicles

October 5, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform its residents in respect to regulations under the Municipal Traffic Safety Bylaw 943, as well as the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act in regards to removing all accumulation of snow, ice or any other obstruction that may obstruct the view of the driver or become dislodged from any other part of the vehicle while in motion.

September 29, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit advises residents that the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted for the
following location: 171,172,173,174,175,176,177,179,181,185 a-f, 189 a-f,358 and 359.

If residents experience water discolouration, they are advised to run their cold tap water for approximately ten minutes, to flush the discolouration out.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - Scheduled closure for trucked-services and city offices

The City of Iqaluit acknowledges the massive impact the residential school system has had on Iqalummiut and supports the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation –action #80 in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) report. Residents and city staff are encouraged to take time to reflect and participate in the community events for this day.

Road Closure – 400 area – Atungauyait Drive
September 23, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of the road closure in the 400 area on Atungauyait Drive (see map below), to allow for the replacement of the culvert.

The closure will be in effect from Saturday, September 24 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
