The City is pleased to announce that the annual residential large item pick-up program will take place from July 11 to July 15, 2022. This is an opportunity for residents to discard difficult to remove items without a fee with the help of Public Works.

Water Shut Down and Precautionary Boil Water Advisory – Happy Valley

June 12, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

Please be advised of a water shut down Sunday, June 12, 2022 from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to repair a broken valve.

Location of water interruption: Happy Valley

The City of Iqaluit is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory for all residents, with the exception to those who are on trucked water services.

Road Closure –Painting of Pride Crosswalk at Joamie School and Aqsarniit Middle School
June 9, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that Abe Okpik Road (adjacent to Aqsarniit Middle School – see map below) and Niaqunngusiariaq Drive (adjacent to Joamie School – see map below) will be closed to all traffic on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This closure is to allow for the painting of two crosswalks:

Reminder Community Clean Up: Friday June 10, 2022
June 9, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City is pleased to announce that the annual community clean up will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We encourage all residents, businesses and visitors to spend the day outdoors and assist in cleaning up our beautiful community.

Bags, gloves, and other supplies will be available for pickup starting at 8:30 AM outside the Iqaluit Library/Unikkaarvik Visitor Center.

Please be advised of a water shut down on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.

Location of water interruption: 100’s, 200’s and 300’s.
