The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis will be visiting Iqaluit on July 29, 2022, as part of the six-day “Walking Together” visit to Canada.
Below is the schedule of events for the Iqaluit visit:
Please be advised of a water shut down on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.

A well-known elder and long time resident of Iqaluit, Councillor Joanasie Akumalik submitted his written resignation from Council the evening of June 22, 2022.
The City would like to thank Councillor Akumalik for his years of services as a City Councillor.

Guidelines for participating floats:
• All floats and/or individual participants must be registered with the City of Iqaluit Recreation Department in advance of the Parade starting.
