The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that City offices, including recreational facilities, will be closed on Friday, April 11, 2025, in recognition of the Toonik Tyme civic holiday.
In accordance with By-law #771, this designated civic holiday takes place on the first Friday of the Toonik Tyme festival and allows residents the opportunity to participate in local celebrations and events.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events Schedule

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to announce a series of Household Hazardous Waste collection events taking place throughout the community this summer and fall. These events give residents the opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted or expired hazardous household items.
Collection events will take place from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the following dates and locations:

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that snow removal operations are currently underway as warmer temperatures arrive. City crews will be actively transporting accumulated snow from various areas throughout town to designated snow dumping sites over the coming weeks.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a partial road closure in front of building 122 on Nipisa Street (map attached).
The closure will going into effect Thursday, April 3, 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until Monday, April 7, 2025.
Residents along this road will still be able to access their homes.
The city of apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your understanding.
