The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a partial road closure in front of building 122 on Nipisa Street (map attached).

The closure will going into effect Thursday, April 3, 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until Monday, April 7, 2025.

Residents along this road will still be able to access their homes.

The city of apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your understanding.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of multiple complete road closures (map below) affecting Akilliq Drive. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of residents during ongoing filming activities in the area.

The closure will be in effect from 4:00PM to 10:00PM on March 26, 2025.

New Property Tax Exemption Process
March 25, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is introducing a new process for property tax exemptions for eligible organizations, effective immediately. Organizations seeking an exemption must now apply annually, instead of every four years. The exemption covers 100% of property taxes for eligible places of worship and non-profit organizations, excluding residencies. The total amount of exemptions granted each year is subject to an annual cap of $300,000.
