Road Closures for Final Surface Paving Operations

July 25, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of upcoming temporary road closures between July 28 and August 8, 2025, to allow for final preparation and paving work in several areas.

Due to the nature of the work, exact closure dates for each location are dependent on project progress and weather. The work will proceed in phases, with the following areas scheduled for temporary full road closures:

• Sinaa Street – Full road closure; local traffic will be permitted. A detour will be available via Umiaq Crescent.
• Apex Bridge – Full road closure; a detour will be in place via Angel Street.
• Queen Elizabeth Way at Sinaa Street – Full road closure; a detour will be available via Palaugaa Drive.

Residents are advised to follow posted signage and use alternate routes where available. The City asks motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution in these areas during the work period.
