MAYOR AND COUNCIL ASK VISITORS TO DELAY NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL TO IQALUIT

March 15, 2020 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) – Iqaluit Mayor Kenny Bell and City Council are asking that visitors delay their travel to Iqaluit to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 to Iqaluit and the rest of Nunavut.

March 14, 2020 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) – The City of Iqaluit’s first priority is its staff and residents. 

The City of Iqaluit continues to work closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health to monitor and respond as needed to the COVID-19 situation. 

To help ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, changes to Recreation programs and facilities have been implemented, effective immediately.

REMINDER: Parking on a roadway is prohibited

DECEMBER 27, 2019 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that as per the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act, as well as City of Iqaluit By-Law 625 the Traffic, Parking and Walkways By-law, its is prohibited to park a vehicle on any roadway unless there is traffic signage authorizing parking on a roadway.

Registration for this years Santa Claus Parade is now open!

Register for the parade online under Community Events.

There is no cost to participate.

Join us December 7th as we kick off the Christmas season.

Refreshments will be available at the AWG after the parade, and if we’re lucky, Santa will stop by for a visit!
