REMINDER: Parking on a roadway is prohibited
DECEMBER 27, 2019 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) – The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that as per the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act, as well as City of Iqaluit By-Law 625 the Traffic, Parking and Walkways By-law, its is prohibited to park a vehicle on any roadway unless there is traffic signage authorizing parking on a roadway.

Registration for this years Santa Claus Parade is now open!

There is no cost to participate.

Join us December 7th as we kick off the Christmas season.
Refreshments will be available at the AWG after the parade, and if we’re lucky, Santa will stop by for a visit!

November 13, 2019 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) – On November 12, at the first meeting of Iqaluit’s new Mayor and Council, Janet Brewster was appointed as the new Deputy Mayor. Mayor Bell recommended the appointed, which was unanimously supported by the council.

November 06, 2019 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) – The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that business license renewal season is upon us! Business owners are encouraged to submit renewals in our new Business License On-Line system before January 31st, 2020 to take advantage of a discounted renewal fee; renewals received on February 1st, 2020 and later, will be subject to the full renewal fee.

CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
October 29, 2019 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) - The results for Iqaluit's newly elected Council members have been released. Twenty-seven candidates ran for 8 positions on City Council. The City of Iqaluit’s new Council members (elect) are: Janet Pitsiulaaq Brewster, Joanasie Akumalik, Solomon Awa, Romeyn Stevenson, Sheila Flaherty, Kyle Sheppard, Simon Nattaq and Malaiya Lucassie.
