Road Closure and in Lower Iqaluit

Residents are advised of a road closure in Lower Iqaluit from Wednesday, February 24 to March 3, 2021 to allow for a repair to our sewer infrastructure.

Nipisa Street from building #140 to #117 will be closed to traffic both ways.

Traffic detour signs will be in effect.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your understanding.

City looks for input for proposed improvements to the Apex Cemetery​

The City of Iqaluit invites residents to send in input for proposed improvements to the Apex Cemetery.

The proposed improvements are part of the larger Apex Cemetery remediation project to address site issues related to drainage problems, water in graves and adapting to a changing climate.

Garbage Collection Delay

Garbage Collection Delay

The City would like to advise residents that they might experience a delay in garbage pick-up service this week due to mechanical issues to the garbage trucks.

Mechanics are currently working on the garbage trucks. We expect services to resume soon with routes completed by Friday, February 5th.

The City apologizes for any inconveniences this may cause.

Please be advised of a water shut down in the Core Area on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow for a repair to the water infrastructure.

Location of water interruption: 157, 159, 161, 163, 165, 166, 168, 170, 183, 185a to f, 187 a to f, 187 a to f, 189 a to f, 190, 191 a to f, 192, 350.

The City of Iqaluit is issuing a boil water advisory for these residents.
