COVID-19 and City of Iqaluit Update
May 4, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City of Iqaluit continues to work closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health to monitor and respond as needed to the COVID-19 situation.

The Iqaluit City Council has declared a state of emergency due to the local community transmission of COVID-19 effective as of 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Iqaluit declares state of emergency
May 3, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The Iqaluit City Council has declared a state of emergency due to the local community transmission of COVID-19 effective as of 12 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

 

During an Emergency City Council meeting on Monday, May 3rd, Councillor Sheppard made a motion to declare a state of emergency and appoint CAO Amy Elgersma as the Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator with the motion # 21-137.
