City opens information phone line for residents
The City of Iqaluit has opened an information phone line to assist residents and answer questions about city services affected by COVID-19.
This service is available in Inuktitut and English and will operate on the following schedule:
Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Fridays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
To use this information phone line, call 867-979-5603 during the hours of operation to reach Community Communications Liaison, Ainiak Korgak.

Iqaluit City Council extends state of emergency
May 11, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The Iqaluit City Council has extended the state of emergency due to the local community transmission of COVID-19 effective as of 12 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
During a City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 11, Council approved the extension of the state of emergency. CAO Amy Elgersma will continue to act as the Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator.

The Iqaluit City Council has declared a state of emergency due to the local community transmission of COVID-19 effective as of 12 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
During an Emergency City Council meeting on Monday, May 3rd, Councillor Sheppard made a motion to declare a state of emergency and appoint CAO Amy Elgersma as the Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator with the motion # 21-137.
