The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents a complete road closures (map below) affecting Sinaa Street Between Umiaq Crescent and Umiaq Crescent. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of residents during the filming of scenes for the “North of North”.

There will be a road closure in effect on Saturday, May 11th from 8AM to 2PM.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the Reaching Home team is now accepting applications to fund projects, for the current fiscal year (2024-2025), aimed to prevent or reduce inflows into homelessness in Iqaluit,

Funded by the Government of Canada’s Reaching Home Program, funding aims to prevent and reduce homelessness across Canada. In Iqaluit, the City of Iqaluit administers this funding.

All interested individuals must be in good financial standing with the City (no more than $500.00 in arrears).

There is a $250.00 indemnity paid via direct deposit for each meeting attended.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the Public Works department has commenced spring ditching and culvert blasting.

Please be aware that snowmobile trails could become unstable at this time, therefore proceed with caution.

Additionally, please remind your children there is a possibility of water overflow in certain areas.
