The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that community members will be organizing a peaceful rally, at the four corners intersection (Sivumugiaq Road and Niaqunngusiariaq Road), for the Rainbow Week of Action.

The rally will take place on Thursday, May 16th at 5:00PM and last roughly 30 minutes.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents a complete road closure (map below) affecting the vicinity of 1126 Mivvik Street (Old Airport). These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of residents during the filming of scenes for the “North of North”.

The closure will be in effect from Thursday, May 23, from 7:00AM to 10:00PM.

Victoria Day Holiday Hours - Monday, May 20 2024
May 10, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City would like to advise residents that City offices will be closed to the public on Monday, May 20, 2024.

The Aquatic Center will be open May 20, 2024 from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.

All other recreation facilities will operate their regular programming and hours.

Trucked services will not be impacted by the holiday and will operate their regular hours.
