The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that a small fire occurred at the landfill this morning. As a precautionary measure, the landfill will be closed for the remainder of the day.

We remind residents not to dispose of lithium batteries in regular household garbage, as they pose a significant fire hazard. Please ensure that lithium batteries are taken to appropriate recycling facilities.

Aquatic Centre:

The Aquatic Centre will be closed on Monday, August 5.

Recreation Facilities:

All other recreation facilities will operate with regular hours and programming.
