National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – City Office Closure

September 27, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that all City offices will be closed on Monday, September 30, 2024, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is a time to honor the Inuit survivors of residential schools, their families, and all Indigenous peoples across Canada, with a focus on reflecting on the unique impacts felt in our local community.

We encourage all residents to take this time to engage in meaningful discussions and community events that promote healing, understanding, and reconciliation. Iqaluit’s history and its people hold a deep connection to this day, and together, we can continue to build a future rooted in respect, healing, and unity.

Please note that residential water and sewer services, as well as garbage collection, will operate on their regular schedule. The Iqaluit Aquatic Centre will be open from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
