Water Treatment Plant Progress

Repairs to Iqaluit’s Water Treatment Plant are wrapping up. The contractors responsible for the work expect to recommend to the City of Iqaluit that we apply to the Government of Nunavut for permission to return to using the treatment plant as soon as the end of next week.

The City of Iqaluit has also hired a full time certified water treatment plant operator to supervise the facility and ensure that it operates as designed.

In what is quickly becoming an annual tradition, the Iqaluit Fire Department team on call today is made up entirely of women to celebrate International Women’s Day.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, and has been held annually since 1911.
