The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that many landline telephones are not working at the moment. Calls from cellphones to landlines are still working, and our Emergency Services can still be contacted for emergencies at 979-4422 and for non emergencies at 979-5650.
For the time being, please use a cellphone to call those numbers.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a road closure planned for the Four Corners Intersection on Saturday June 3rd, from 7 am until 8 pm. This closure is to allow for street upgrades.
Local traffic will still be able to access businesses throughout the duration of the work. The site layout and traffic control plans are shown below.

The City of Iqaluit will be hosting our annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day and paint exchange on Saturday June 3rd, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Abe Okpik Hall in Apex. This event provides residents an opportunity to safely dispose of their
Household Hazardous Waste, as well as an opportunity for residents to swap paint canisters.

Car Wash Ban

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that the car wash ban is still in effect. This ban includes all motor vehicles, boats and trailers –both personal and commercial- and is for City treated water. The car wash ban does not apply to the use of collected rainwater or untreated lake water.
This is in accordance with section 206(3) of Bylaw 200.
