The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a partial road closure on Niaqunngusiariaq Road, in the area around Apex Hill, from July 20 to August 2. The closure is required to complete granular work associated with paving a portion of the roadway.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Niaqunngusiariaq Road will be closed to traffic between Saputi Road and Kangiq & Iniq Drive to allow for essential upgrades to water and sewer infrastructure.

This closure will be in effect from Wednesday, July 8, 2026, to Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that a road closure will be in effect on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, following the Canada Day Parade.

The road closure will be in place to allow residents and families to safely gather at the Nakasuk parking lot and take part in the community events and celebrations.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that concrete work is scheduled on Iglulik Drive on June 9 and 10, 2026. A map is included below highlighting the section of roadway affected by the road closure.

May 8, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the road closure on Fred Coman Street, currently in place to allow for essential upgrades to the water and sewer infrastructure, has been extended.

The closure is now expected to remain in effect until Monday, May 18, 2026.

Road Closure – Kangiq & Iniq Drive Phase Two

May 7, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Kangiq & Iniq Drive will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, May 11, 2026, to allow for the second phase of essential upgrades to the water and sewer infrastructure.

This closure is expected to remain in effect until Monday, May 25, 2026.

La Ville d’Iqaluit souhaite aviser les citoyennes et citoyens que la Kangiq & Iniq Drive sera fermée à la circulation à partir du lundi 11 mai 2026 pour permettre la réalisation des travaux de la deuxième phase du programme de réfection des infrastructures d’eau et d’égout.

Cette fermeture devrait être en vigueur jusqu’au lundi 25 mai 2026.
