The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the road closure on Fred Coman Street, currently in place to allow for essential upgrades to the water and sewer infrastructure, has been extended.

The closure is now expected to remain in effect until Monday, May 18, 2026.

May 7, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Kangiq & Iniq Drive will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, May 11, 2026, to allow for the second phase of essential upgrades to the water and sewer infrastructure.

This closure is expected to remain in effect until Monday, May 25, 2026.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a complete road closure of Simonie Michael Lane on March 27, 2026.

This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of residents during the filming of scenes for the “North of North.”

The closure will be in effect on March 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
