Temporary Road Closure – 4-Corners and Queen Elizabeth Way to Elders Qammaq

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents of a temporary road closure on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The closure will affect the area from 4-Corners down Queen Elizabeth Way to the Elders Qammaq. This is to accommodate the gathering for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and the subsequent Reconciliation Walk.

A detour route will be in place during this period, and the map below outlines the detour. We ask all residents to follow the posted detour and plan for extra travel time.

This closure is necessary to complete the much-anticipated repaving of Mivvik Street, a vital infrastructure project funded through the Municipal Capital Block Funding.

Queen Elizabeth Way will be closed from Sinaa Street to the entrance of Nakasuk School parking lot between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
