Please be advised of a water shut down on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at approximately 9:00 a.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.

Location of water interruption: 273, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110

The City of Iqaluit will issue a precautionary boil water advisory for the above addresses following the shutdown.

Water Treatment Plant Progress

Repairs to Iqaluit’s Water Treatment Plant are wrapping up. The contractors responsible for the work expect to recommend to the City of Iqaluit that we apply to the Government of Nunavut for permission to return to using the treatment plant as soon as the end of next week.

The City of Iqaluit has also hired a full time certified water treatment plant operator to supervise the facility and ensure that it operates as designed.

Toonik Tyme Civic Holiday

Toonik Tyme Civic Holiday

The City is pleased to announce that the Civic Holiday for Toonik Tyme will be held this year on Friday March 31, 2023.

As per By-law 735 and amendment 771, this full-day civic holiday, scheduled on the first Friday of the festival. The holiday is intended to allow residents time to participate in events.
