City of Iqaluit Office Closure – September 30, 2021

The City of Iqaluit is acknowledging the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by closing its City offices and public buildings on Thursday, September 30, 2021 to allow residents and staff time for reflection on this significant day.

Trucked-services, garbage service as well as recreation services will be limited. Please be advised of the following alternate schedules for each service:

Accessibility Entrance at New City Hall

Accessibility Entrance at New City Hall

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents with mobility impairment of the accessibility ramp that is located in the back of City Hall at building 1085. Residents with mobility impairments are encouraged to use this entrance when visiting City Hall for bill payments or any other required business at the City Hall offices.

The City would also like to remind residents that masks are mandatory throughout Nunavut, and are required in order to enter the City Hall building until further notice.

Rock Blasting – North of Upper Base

Rock Blasting – North of Upper Base

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Nunavut Excavating will be blasting rock on behalf of the City in the North of Upper Base area. Rock blasting will take place along the new road on September 11, 2021 between the hours of 5:00PM and 7:00PM.

Appropriate signage will be placed indicating where the blasting area begins.

Access to this area is strictly prohibited.
