Full Road Closure – Atungauyait Drive – Building 1620
May 10, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a complete road closure. Atungauyait Drive from building 1620 (map below) will be fully closed to thru-traffic due to a sewer main break needing repair.
The closure goes into effect on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
A PSA will be issued once the work is completed and the road re-opens.

Hot Spot at Landfill – Update VII

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the landfill is operating at normal operations and that the road to the deep sea port has been reopened.
Residents are asked to refrain from calling dispatch to report steam or smoking from the landfill – as these are an expected result of the ongoing treatment of hot spots. Please only call dispatch to report active flames at the landfill.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of an upcoming change to traffic signalization near the Joamie Court Subdivision.
The City will be removing two traffic signs located on Niaqungusiariaq:
• The “No left turn” sign as you are heading north on Niaqungusiariaq advising motorist that they cannot enter on to Joamie Court by turn left while traveling on north on Niaqungusiariaq (blue triangle on image below).

Temporary Boil Water Advisory – All of Iqaluit

Please be advised that due to a mechanical failure, the City of Iqaluit is issuing a temporary boil water advisory for all residents.
During a boil water advisory, all water for consumption must be brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute.
It is essential that all water be boiled for the following uses:

Fire/Ambulance –
Blizzard information –
