The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residence that complaints have been received in respect to rocks being thrown at vehicles along our roadways, particularly Taxi Vehicles by youths.

Taxi vehicles are the main source of public transportation in Iqaluit, and the incidents of rock throwing places many individuals at risk including the occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

• Wearing of a face covering (e.g. mask) is required in all public spaces, within municipal facilities, for City employees and guests ages 2 and older.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that due to heavy drifting and inclement weather, the City recommends that residents avoid driving on the road to Apex, unless absolutely necessary.

Please be advised of a water shut down Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.

Location of water interruption: Lower Iqaluit

The City of Iqaluit is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory for all residents, with the exception to those who are on trucked water services.
