The City of Iqaluit celebrated the outstanding fire service of Captain Walter Oliver and Firefighter Eegeesiak Aniqmiuq with a medal ceremony at the Fire Hall on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

City invites input on sewer infrastructure upgrade project

The City of Iqaluit invites residents’ input into projects, policies and initiatives that grow our community and prepare our city for the future. The City is currently looking for interested residents to join a stakeholder engagement group for a sewer upgrade project in the Core Area.
The City of Iqaluit advises residents that the boil water advisory is lifted for the following location: 400s, 500s, and 1600s.

Please be advised of an emergency water shut down in Happy Valley on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to allow for a repair to the water infrastructure.
Residents in the following locations may be affected: 400s, 500s, and 1600s.

March 15, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
Please be advised of an emergency water shut down in Happy Valley on Tuesday, March 15, 2021 from approximately 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to allow for a repair to the water infrastructure.
Residents in the following locations may be affected: 400s, 1600s, and 500s.
The City is reminding everyone of garbage bin requirements to allow for uninterrupted roadside pickup service.
Large garbage bags are the only items that the Public Works crew will pick up with regular roadside service. Small shopping bags and individual items must be placed inside large garbage bags.
