The City of Iqaluit continues to work closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health to monitor and respond as needed to the COVID-19 situation.

Recreation Facilities

The Elders Qammaq, Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre, AWG and curling rink are closed until further notice. All city-run playgrounds are closed to the public.

The City would like to remind property owners and property managers that, as stated in the Snow Removal Municipal By-Law 591, they are responsible for removing snow and ice either to the rear of parking areas, or from parking areas, to ensure that roadways remain clear for water and garbage servicing and emergency services access.
