Reminders for roadside pickup service

The City is reminding everyone of garbage bin requirements to allow for uninterrupted roadside pickup service.

Large garbage bags are the only items that the Public Works crew will pick up with regular roadside service. Small shopping bags and individual items must be placed inside large garbage bags.

It is the responsibility of the garbage bin owner to maintain the structural integrity of the bin, clean out any loose garbage and keep it free of snow inside, on top, and around the bin for the Public Works crew to access the garbage bins.

All garbage bins should be kept within the property boundaries of the lot or parcel of land in which the serviced premises are located and be positioned adjacent to the public roadway no more than 2m from the road.

Your efforts ensure that all your discarded garbage is picked up and keeps service on schedule for other residents.
