The City is pleased to announce that the annual residential large item pick-up program will take place from September 09 to September 14, 2024. This is an opportunity for residents to discard difficult to remove items without a fee with the help of Public Works.

The City of Iqaluit Landfill will be closed to the public today due to unforeseen circumstances, however we anticipate returning to regular hours of operation on September 4, 2024.

Back to School – Traffic Safety

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that students are returning to school in Iqaluit September 3rd 2024, please drive with caution, especially around school buses and in the areas of the schools.

Be alert and mindful during dim mornings and dark afternoons, it can be difficult to see pedestrians.

Remember it is illegal to pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing and stop sign activated.
