September 5, 2020 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) - The City would like to advise residents that City offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2020. Truck services will also not operate on Monday, September 7, 2020.

Residents requesting water delivery on Monday may call the City’s dispatch service at 979.5650, from 8 AM to 4 PM. A service charge of $250 will be applied for emergency delivery.

Road Closure Between Core Area and West 40

Road Closure Between Core Area and West 40

 

Residents are advised of a road closure at the end of Ikaluktuutiak Drive at the intersection of Akilliq and Allanngua, between the Core Area and West 40. The closure will take place from Thursday, September 3rd to Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 to allow for infrastructure repairs.

Barricades and signs for a detour route are in place.

Temporary Closure for Landfill Metal Operations

Temporary Closure for Landfill Metal Operations

 

Residents and businesses are advised that the Iqaluit landfill’s metal operations will be closed to the public from August 31 to September 21 to allow Kudlik Construction to process metal that is currently onsite.

During this time, we ask everyone to refrain from bringing metal refuse to the landfill. The landfill will restart metal collection on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020.

Paint Can Exchange Program Date Change to Saturday, August 22

 

Please be advised that there is a date change for the City’s Paint Can Exchange Program to be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Airbase Garage (City Garage) located at Four-Corners. This is a change from the original date of Friday, August 21st.

Residents are invited to drop-off, exchange, or pick-up paints at the event. City Staff will safely dispose of all leftover paints.
