The Iqaluit landfill will close the scrap metal portion of the site from July 24 and August 23, 2021 to allow for metal crushing.
Due to the potential safety hazard for people, the landfill will not receive any scrap metal, appliances or end of life vehicles during this time.
The metal landfill will reopen on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

Please be advised of a water shut down in the Happy Valley on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to allow for a repair to the water infrastructure.
Location of water interruption: Happy Valley
The City of Iqaluit is issuing a boil water advisory for these residents.
This is a precautionary measure due to a break in the water line during a repair to our water infrastructure.
Residents are advised of a road closure for Nunavut Drive in front of the Curling Rink from Wednesday, July 14 to Friday, July 16 during the hours of 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Parking for those attending the vaccination clinic is available outside building 901.

Residents are advised of a road closure in North 40 by the airport from July 12 to July 19, 2021 to allow for a repair to our sewer infrastructure.
Ungalliqpaat Crescent from Federal road to the airport will be reduced to one lane traffic both ways.
Construction lights or a flagman will be in place to direct traffic.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. this morning Iqaluit Emergency Services was dispatched to a structure fire in the 2200 neighbourhood.
Iqaluit City Council approved the allocation of over one million dollars of Government of Canada funding to community organizations serving the vulnerable and at risk residents of Iqaluit.
The City received $1,182,126 of funding from the Government of Canada under the Reaching Home community-based program aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness, which is to be used in the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
