Potable Water Available
Potable Water Available
T he temporary suspension of the Canadia n Armed Forces Operation LENTUS has not impacted the City’s ability to provide residents with potable water at the below water depot locations.
Water has been and remains available at the following water depot locations
- AWG (indoors - back door)
- Abe Okpik Hall (indoors)
- Elder's Qammaq (indoors)
The depots are open seven days a week from 11am 6pm.
Temporary Sewage Bypass – Lift Station 1
Temporary Sewage Bypass – Lift Station 1
Crews will be installing a temporary sewage bypass around Lift Station 1 to facilitate work inside the lift station. The project duration is expected to run from November 24, 2021 to December 20, 2021. No Interruption in services is expected for residents.

The City Congratulates Doug Cox on Junior Achievement Northern Alberta Business Hall of Fame Induction
The City would like to congratulate Doug Cox, on his induction into the Junior Achievement Northern Alberta 2021 Business Hall of Fame.
Doug Cox is the CEO of Nunastar, as well as the co-founder of both the Cox Charitable Foundation and the Nunastar Fund for Northern Children.
The City appreciates Mr. Cox’s contribution to Iqaluit and Nunavut as a whole.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that water is available at the follow locations:
- AWG Parking Lot (indoors – back door of the arena)
- Abe Okpik Hall (indoors)
- Elder's Qammaq (indoors)
Today, Wednesday November 24, 2021 the depots hours will be extended until 8 pm.
Water Quality Monitoring Sample Results
Water Quality Monitoring Sample Results
The City has received and is releasing the latest results of the ongoing water quality monitoring. These results cover test results from the weekly sampling program taken between November 7th 2021 and November 15th, 2021.
The City is testing for BTEX/PHC[F1-F4], which tests for Petroleum Hydrocarbons in the water using 11 different parameters.

Bottled water will be available at the CURLING RINK, at the following times:
• Sunday, November 21st: 1:00pm-3:00pm
• Tuesday, November 23rd: 10:00am-12:30pm
• Thursday, November 25th: 10:00am- 12:30pm
• Friday, November 26th: 10:00am-12:30pm
Residents are asked to be cautious and watch for traffic as they enter and exit the facility.

Snowfall and Heavy Winds Warning – City Urges 72 Hour Water Preparedness - Potable Water Available
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall and heavy winds warning for Iqaluit. The City
encourages all residents to ensure that they have enough water for a period of up to 72 hours.
The Reverse Osmosis refill depots are open today, Monday November 22nd, from 11 am to 6 pm.
The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that additional treated, potable water from
CAF Operation LENTUS is available at the following locations:
