We understand that this announcement has generated a range of emotions within our community, and we want to clarify our intentions and express our commitment to the well-being of our residents.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the Recreation Department will be hosting interviews with the Nunavut Disability's Makinasuaqtiit Society here in Iqaluit. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss MAID (Medical Assistance In Dying) and how Nunavut Elders feel. The meeting will take place on Thursday October 19th 2023, at 2 PM at the Elders Qammaq.

The City of Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement department in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) conducted random sobriety and road safety checkstops throughout the City of Iqaluit on the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The City of Iqaluit will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day and paint exchange on Saturday October 14th, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the side of Building 623 at the Four Corners. This event provides residents an opportunity to safely dispose of their Household Hazardous Waste, as well as an opportunity for residents to swap paint canisters.
