The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that there are three position openings to serve as Member-at-Large on Recreation Committee.
All interested individuals must be in good financial standing with the City (no more than $500.00 in arrears).
There is a $250.00 indemnity paid via direct deposit for each meeting attended.
Council appoints members-at-Large until the next change of council, in 2027.

The City of Iqaluit Fire Department responded to a fire just before 11:00 PM on Tuesday, January 16th.
There was one death. The cause of death is currently under investigation with the RCMP.
Additionally, five individuals were taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation and other minor injuries.

The City of Iqaluit stopped trucked services at 4:30 PM EST, due to the icy road conditions.
Plows and sand trucks remain on the road. Please use all due caution when going home this evening. The roads are very icy, drive safely and look out for pedestrians.
