The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the main driveway to Inuksugait Plaza, located off Ikaluktuutiak Drive (red X mark on the map below), will be closed effective March 6th at 1pm, to allow for water infrastructure repair.

6:00 PM - The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that City of Iqaluit Recreational Facilities will resume normal operating hours tomorrow, Saturday March 2nd.
Below are the Saturday opening hours for recreation facilities:
• Arctic Winter Games Arena (AWG): 7:00 AM
• Arnaitok Arena: 8:30 AM
• Aquatic Center: 9:00 AM

3:00 PM - The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the main streets are now cleared enough to accommodate traffic. Heavy Equipment crews are currently working on the side streets. As snow clearing activities are still underway, residents are advised to exercise extreme caution.

10:00 AM - The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the city is suspending services, such as water delivery, waste management and garbage pick-up, and closing city facilities to the public, until further notice, due to severe weather conditions.
The City advises residents to immediately take shelter and then stay off the roads due to reduced visibility, high winds and unsafe road conditions.

The City would like to advise residents that the Iqaluit Fire Department will be conducting ambulance driver training with the Fire Department volunteers on Tuesday February 27th, from 19:00-21:00.
This training will be done in the West 40 area. There will be lights and sirens used to familiarize the volunteers with the use of the equipment.

Weekend Programming Cancelled at Arnaitok Arena
February 23rd, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that all programming at the Arnaitok Arena has been cancelled for the weekend, due to ongoing issues with the Zamboni.
City Mechanics are working to repair the Zamboni as quickly as possible, so that Arnaitok arena programming may resume.
The City will provide further information regarding Arnaitok Arena programming on Monday, February 26th.
