Parking on Roadway Prohibited

The City of Iqaluit reminds residents that under the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act and City of Iqaluit By-Law 625 (Traffic, Parking, and Walkways By-law), parking on roadways is prohibited unless authorized by posted traffic signage. Vehicles parked in violation of this rule are subject to a fine of up to $75.00, and may also be towed at the owner’s expense.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that City offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, to observe Remembrance Day.
Please note that residential water and sewer services, as well as garbage collection, will operate on their regular schedule. The Iqaluit Aquatic Centre will be open from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and regular programming will occur at both Arctic Winter Games and Arnaitok Arenas.

Each store will set up an account for each registered user and for each child registered under the program, ensuring individual accounts for all beneficiaries.

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents to use extra caution when travelling this Halloween night, Thursday, October 31, 2024.
To help ensure a safe evening for children out trick-or-treating the Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement Department and the Iqaluit Fire Department will be present in various locations throughout the city. They will provide high-visibility assistance to families, patrol the community, and offer a reassuring presence.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform its residents in respect to regulations under the Municipal Traffic Safety Bylaw 943, as well as the Nunavut Traffic Safety Act in regards to removing all accumulation of snow, ice or any other obstruction that may obstruct the view of the driver or become dislodged from any other part of the vehicle while in motion.
