New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display
December 27, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is thrilled to announce the return of our cherished annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display to celebrate the arrival of 2025! The fireworks will light up the sky at midnight on December 31, 2024, launched from the deep-sea port.

We extend our thanks to Michael Salomonie for his valuable assistance in coordinating this event, ensuring a memorable celebration for all. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Department of Economic Development and Transportation for their collaboration with the City in facilitating the use of the deep-sea port for this special occasion.

As we come together to ring in the New Year, the City encourages residents to dress warmly and stay safe while enjoying the event. To ease traffic congestion, we recommend walking to viewing locations wherever possible. Additionally, we kindly remind everyone not to block access to the port or causeway with vehicles to ensure accessibility for all attendees.

Let us make this a night to remember as we welcome the New Year with joy and community spirit!
