The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residence of the newly enacted amendment to the City of Iqaluit Traffic Safety Bylaw No. 894, being the amended Traffic Safety Bylaw No. 943. Additionally the City of Iqaluit enacts Bylaw No. 944 Impounded Vehicle and Equipment bylaw.

Update on Cabin Construction
September 20, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City is providing an update on cabin construction, as per council motion #20-339, which directed City staff to conduct background research, consultation and implementation of a Cabin Policy.
Residents are advised that at this time, all cabin construction on Municipal Lands is unauthorized until the City finalizes cabin regulations and establishes a process for cabin approvals.

Please be advised of a water shut down on Saturday, September 17th , 2022 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow for necessary water infrastructure work.
Location of water interruption: 100’s, 200’s, 300’s
The City of Iqaluit is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory for the above addresses.

Stop Sign – Apex John Amagoalik Drive

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise Apex residents that the Stop Sign located on John Amaogoalik Drive on approach to the Apex cemetery will be permanently removed.
The stop sign located at the “T” Intersection of Helen Maksagak Drive will remain in place.
The anticipated removal date for the Stop Sign is Monday September 19, 2022.
